It’s been a quiet year, and it makes me very happy to step back into things with a gorgeous soon to be mother.
This little gem of a morning was made perfect at a small greenhouse located outside Millet. (Grandview Valley) It was the perfect backdrop for a maternity session, the blooms were stunning and rich with colour.
I am always so grateful when I am invited to share these beautiful moments. Her natural glow made it too easy to do my job.

I have to give thanks to everyone who participated in our fall mini sessions. This was a wonderful experience. We were able to find new scenes on the property to photograph, and so many so that each session had a unique setting. Thank you for helping me find these little gems.
And even though we will be closing our mini sessions for the season, I want to continue to offer our location as a setting. It can always be requested when booking any type of session. The space is abundant and can accommodate almost any project you would like. We have further sights then the ones we used for our mini sessions as it was time sensitive, but further out there are secluded treed areas, open fields, rolling hills, private ponds abundant with wildlife and certainly rustic buildings to be found.
As a last note, I want to share that I was so excited, so ecstatic with the mini sessions, that we are working on a possible winter mini session at the farm. We have a project in the works, and if all goes well, we should have our own skate themed mini session! Fingers crossed.

Building up the courage to expand my horizons with photography began with this beautiful invitation from a friend. I was so honoured and a little terrified when asked to photograph a friend’s wedding. They had planned a lovely backyard ceremony and a private pre-ceremony photography session, it was the perfect setting to dip my toes into the world of Wedding Photography.
Between the whirlwind that can be a wedding, it was humbling to be able to capture the loving moments that make up the special day. The looks of awe, of trust, and excitement. I can see why some choose to capture these moments as a full time affair. I can’t say that I will be making the shift for myself any time soon, but I believe that I have some new goals to look forward to in the future. Looking forward to new opportunities that may come my way!

Happy Easter everyone!
It’s in strange times that this message goes out to everyone. I hope everyone is staying healthy and sane. If you are following the highly recommended isolation protocols, then the latter is very important. Remember though, just because we are separated, does not mean we aren’t connected.
I am very grateful for the technology that is at hand nowadays to help us through this. Tonight, our family will virtually come together momentarily and as tough as it might be to go through special occasions like this, we know it is only temporary.

Since we introduced our little princess last month, today I introduce to everyone our prince. This is Evan. As you can tell by his great smile he loves giving me something handsome to shoot. He is a menace and the sweetest. Toddlers are tough but this is where you can see the hard work put into them shine through.
The winter days are feeling long right now and we can’t wait for some warmer weather so we can head out and use up all the energy Evan has. But we try and be creative and find new things to do inside. From baking, building, and photography, he loves being busy.
Don’t let being stuck inside stop you from doing your family portraits though. At Mirror we love doing lifestyle sessions, and most associate that with outdoors, with all that space. But we don’t always want to wait for that good weather and that’s O.K. In this showcase these were all taken in a 15 sq ft area, we push the mess just outside of view and we get nice cropped portraits.

An introduction might be needed here. Just over four months ago we had a new addition to the family. This is our beautiful Eleanor.
She is a great inspiration these winter days, a ray of sunshine. We had plenty of fun with the snow today, big wet flakes and warm temperatures make it easier to convince her it’s not all terrible outside for a few minutes.
As she grows up too fast, I can’t take enough pictures to capture all these beautiful moments. This is why I love the casual lifestyle sessions.

I have to admit that fall is my favourite season. The transition between seasons is just stunning. The chill in the air makes us all want to cozy up. And when you get those warm days, they’re so appreciated that you don’t let them go to waste.
The afternoon we did this shoot is mildly deceiving. It would look as if it’s one of those rare warm autumn days, but in truth there was a chill. But you cant tell with those big smiles.
The love this family exudes is what makes these pictures glow with warmth. I am happy to call them friends, and always love taking their pictures.

I have to admit that fall is my favourite season. The transition between seasons is just stunning. The chill in the air makes us all want to cozy up. And when you get those warm days,
The morning of this shoot was almost a hit or miss situation. An hour before it was a great sunny day, and then by the time we rolled in for our pictures it was cloudy. Luckily there was no rain, but by the time we wrapped up our shoot it was sunny again! I wouldn’t ask for anything different though as the pictures turned out superb. Well maybe fewer mosquitoes.
My favourite part when doing a family session is letting the kids run loose. Those candid shots are always full of big smiles.
